At present, more than 81,500 Americans remain missing from WWII, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Cold War, and the Gulf Wars/other conflicts. Out of the more than 81,500 missing, 75% of the losses are located in the Indo-Pacific, and over 41,000 of the missing are presumed lost at sea (i.e. ship losses, known aircraft water losses, etc.).
About X52 Project
Soldiers are being identified and reunited to their homes and families at an average rate of nearly 150 per year. This is an amazing accomplishment, but with over 81,500 still unaccounted for, there is so much more to do. X52 Project wants to help. By bringing awareness to the thousands of soldiers that have yet to make it home and recognizing the service and sacrifices of all service members past and present.

In May 2022, Pvt. Hillary Soileau was brought home to his family to be buried with full military honors.
